The Nov/Dec 2012 edition of Classic Racer magazine has a feature on my travels to the USA in the early 1980’s. It comprises my photos and words about motorcycle racing in America at this time. As a kid I had a love affair with motorcycles and especially racing. I saw a movie called ON ANY SUNDAY which featured the culture and life of American racers in the early 1970’s and then there was a TV documentary about Barry Sheene’s attempt to win the famous Daytona 200, I was hooked ! I saved pocket money and eventually my first wages with the aim of going to America and in particular visiting the famous Daytona 200 where my heroes raced.CHASING MY HEROES is the title of the article from a forgotten archive.
